If I Had My Way

Tuesday, January 30th, 2007

Real World Records recording artist Little Axe is a musical legend who has worked with such eclectic and diverse artists as Grandmaster Flash, Afrika Bambaata, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, James Brown, Robert Plant, Mark Stewart & The Mafia, Sinead O’Connor, and Megadeth among others. I recently wrapped up a remix of his song “If I Had My Way”, from his CD “Stone Cold Ohio”.

You can check out my remix here. I’d love some feedback or ratings if you feel so inclined.

Vieux Farka Touré is the son of the late international superstar and two-time Grammy Award-winner Ali Farka Touré. An historic passing of the torch from father to son is represented by Vieux’s debut. He has crafted a globalminded style all his own with original compositions displaying flourishes of rock and reggae amidst Saharan Blues and traditional Malian melodies.

I remixed his song “Ana” as part of a new contest at ccmixter. You can check out my remix here.
